Artspace is working with El Barrio's Operation Fightback, a local
community development organization, to acquire former P.S. 109 in
East Harlem and develop it as a facility for individuals and their
families. The project will provide 62 affordable live/work studios with community space on the ground floor.
Artspace
is currently working with the Department of Housing Preservation and
Development and the Housing Development Corporation to assemble the
financing and complete the fundraising for this $33 million project.
